MEETINGS & ROLES The structure of a Toastmasters meeting, with its roles and protocols, is designed to give each Toastmaster specific kinds of public speaking experience while contributing to the overall value of the meeting. Click here for a brief description of each role. Some roles provide feedback to the speakers and to the members in attendance, some help meetings move smoothly. And, of course, there are scheduled speeches as well as Table Topics (short, extemporaneous speeches) for the main speaking opportunities. Our Vice President of Education creates an assignment schedule to facilitate the scheduling of speeches and the fulfillment of roles. Copies of the schedule are available at the meetings, or you can click here for our current schedule. Woodridge Toastmasters meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month (with the exception of November and December when we alter the schedule to accommodate the holidays). Click here for upcoming meeting dates. Visitors are welcome and may attend for free. No prior arrangement is necessary -- just come and check us out! |
